Rise The Wicked - MNZ Interview: The Distorted Transmission 009: Rise The Wicked

11 Aug 2021 // An interview by Will Stairmand

Waikato heavy rockers Rise the Wicked sit down for a chat after filming their first music video with Will behind the lens - the filming of both the music video and the interview took place on Saturday 10th July at their practice space in the rural and beautiful town of Pirongia in the Waikato, and the single has already been released since. Will had a lot of fun hanging out with them for the day. Check it out!

About Rise The Wicked

Rise The Wicked are a band that formed in the Waikato in early 2019. When 8 Steps to Madness went on hiatus, guitarists Andrew Stites and Peter Hughes continued to jam, and started to piece together riffs which became Rise The Wicked songs.

Terry Cairns joined as the vocalist and had an ability at writing lyrics, creating a tone that gives Rise The Wicked its sound.

Ewan Dawson was asked to join and handle bass duties towards the end of 2020. He bought a lot of experience and gelled well with the other band members.
