In classic indie fashion, the third track on the EP, Grapefruit, is a lovely feature of the ukulele. It marks the halfway point of the EP and it's slower and more mellow than the other tracks on the collection - perhaps representing the low feeling in the middle of a healing journey.
Don’t Disappear is the last new song on the track list, incorporating all of the different sounds and journeys from the other songs. My favourite part is right at the end where we can hear Cloudy’s vocal lines sing to us as a choir, allowing us to fully take in all of her storytelling. The EP closes out with live acoustic versions of two previously released singles Worth It and I'll Stay, bringing the EP to a close.
This EP is a lovely exploration into a journey of self-discovery and embracing the turmoil and storms that come with life. There will always be rain at certain points in life, but Cloudy encourages us to embrace the raincloud, and move through it eventually.
Cloudy is a Kiwi-Austrian alternative-pop singer songwriter from Auckland, New Zealand. Her passions of songwriting are brought to life in the comforts of her bedroom where she brings forth a personal and unique voice. Cloudy captures you with her raw and honest emotions which can be a vulnerable and compelling experience. Her music is original and imaginative crossing worlds of alternative-pop and indie sounds.
With the success of her two first studio releases, Dear Dunkin (2019) and Addicted to You (2020), she began her journey in the recording studio working closely with her producer Harry Charles to record her debut EP titled Good Grief which is set to be released early February/March 2021 . The first track Ill Stay from her EP will be released 8th of January 2021.
