Altitude Illness
All supplies were left behind
And now we ask ourselves
"what was the point?"
We set upon this rocky mountain path,
With no map or knowledge of the slopes...
No safety ropes to hold the two of us together,
No guarantees to never fall..
Not so easy to please...
Fatigue will overcome,
And snow will give us hell
before we're done...
If only for a light, or something to clear the way
So we can see before us...
The only things we have got
Are broken cables and locks
These along with ideas
Which is why I thought that we were here...
Not so easy to please are we?
So we panic and we fight
for breath
When all we need is just to sit down and take in air
And the drama will subside... And we'll be left tired..
Strangely unsatisfied.
We brought it on ourselves.
Altitude Illness tucked into our belts..
The only item that we choose to pack away
On this journey.
