The Akadmcs was orginally formed in 2002 by superstar New Zealand MC Scribe, along with ex F.U.S.A member Infared & C4 they played a number of small shows as well the Deceptikonz Elimination Tour and True Colours. Because of developments made towards Scribe's solo carrer he moved away leaving Infared and C4 to continue the Akadmcs in Christchurch. Time passed by and the Akadmcs name drifted into the past as Infared pursued his music with F.U.S.A and C4 constantly travelling out of town for work purposes.
Then at the start of 2003 7 time battle champion Karizma was flourishing off his solo carrer with first single 'Ode To Christchurch' ripping up local radio stations and appearing on Hoodwatch South's first underground realese 'The Great Divide' as well as Nationally reknowned Nzhiphop magazine 'Back to Basics' , during that course of time he also worked with Tyna formally of the Dubious Brothers as well as underground ledgend kronikal and Dunedin's finest hip hop collective S.A.I.D. He and Infared talked about starting a new group and in March 2004 they created the bluebloods, after dealing with the controvesy of having a slightly gang related name, the pair finally agreed to re-forming The Akadmcs.
After the two teamed up they searched high and low for a dj equipped enough to take on a high paced live show, they decided to appraoch local underground ledgend Tenacious (10A) who was at the time working with King Kapisi on his new album, 10A is an extremely humble and mulit talented DJ/Producer and in years to come will work the boards for some of nz's top act's.
And in 2005 after little under a year of doing shows the have an underground single 'Street Anthem' and a portfolio of several international support spots including Bone Thugs n Harmony, Busta Ryhmes and the beat junkies ellustrious DJ Shortkut. as well as being known to have the tightest live show the South Island has ever seen to date.
Now that The Akadmcs are re-born and active the trio looks set for greatness ripping up live shows with comedy and timing unlike any other South Island act.
