Born of a Tahitian mother and a Cook Islands father, Annie Crummer released her first single
Once or Twice at the age of sixteen. It went on to reach #16 on the NZ charts. 1985 heard Annie wailing away in the
Netherworld Dancing Toys’ hit,
For Today. She later joined
When The Cat’s Away with their cover of
Melting Pot hitting #1 on the NZ music charts.
In 1993 Annie released her debut solo album
Language which gained platinum status. In 1996 she released her second album
Seventh Wave reaching gold. She has won numerous music awards including Best Female Artist in 1993, and was also nominated for Best Female Artist at the 1996 ARIAs in Australia. As a solo artist, Annie has supported and toured with Sir Paul McCartney, KD Lang, Ray Charles, Sting and Michael Jackson.
