Hot new acts will get their chance to break into the music industry, with youth talent search and concert GENERATION NEXT which heads to Manukau this October.
Aimed at discovering and nurturing the community’s rising stars, the talent search will take place at the Telstra Clear Pacific Events Centre, Manukau, with auditions on October 13th & 14th, and a grand finale concert on October 20th. The grand finale will feature the top five finalists performing alongside New Zealand’s current chart topping performers including Savage, RIA, David Dallas, Aaradhna and Sweet & Irie.
Contestants will move through the heats based on crowd response for their performance and a panel of celebrity judges, made up of Savage, Aaradhna and DJ Sir-Vere, will make the overall decision. One finalist will be crowned the GENERATION NEXT contest winner and will receive an exclusive single recording deal with Dawn Raid / Universal Music.
Featuring as part of the 2011 Rugby World Cup celebrations, the talent show will connect the winning artist with one of the country’s premiere labels. Dawn Raid Entertainment is a South Auckland founded Record label and Promotions Company with a long history of success within the New Zealand music industry. Its successes include holding the highest selling US single by a NZ artist - “SWING” performed by Savage - which sold over 2 million copies.
GENERATION NEXT will be a great opportunity to check out the community’s up-coming talent, as well as chart topping artists. Those keen to audition should not miss the chance to get in front of some of the best in the business.
