Fly My Pretties 20 date 'Homeland Tour'

12 June 2013 - 0 Comments

September 2013 will see Fly My Pretties return to their roots, as they embark on 20 intimate shows across New Zealand on the Homeland Tour.

With the musical journey beginning at Aotearoa’s tip in Kaitaia and ending in the Southern-most city of Invercargill, the 20 date regional tour will see the collective chart a route rarely explored by top live acts.

Assembling a brand new cast of talent and a new book of songs reminiscent of the acoustic styles of their early releases; the mammoth tour will introduce the collective’s iconic high production show and cast of burgeoning kiwi talent to heartland New Zealand for the first time.

Led by Barnaby Weir, the latest Fly My Pretties incarnation will once again transform their live show and audiences can expect a performance unified by a fresh concept, which will be expressed through the collective’s song, costume, staging and inspired visual installation.

"This tour is going to be off the hook”, says Barnaby Weir. “Finally we get to take the Fly My Pretties experience to places it's never been seen before; I know it's going to be one hell of a musical excursion."

With 24 people on the road, delivering 20 shows in 17 regions, the Homeland Tour is logistically no mean feat.

Fly My Pretties are an award-winning, collaborative group. The focus of the project is on original music, artistic collaboration and surrounding themes, making it more of an experience than just a concert.

Since its inception in 2004, Fly My Pretties has grown to become a local legend of music that continues to reach people all over the world. Through the series of sell-out live performances and four critically acclaimed albums, their music has captivated audiences of all ages.

In keeping with Fly My Pretties tradition, all 20 shows of the Homeland Tour will be filmed and recorded live – this time for their 5th full-length release.
