New Zealand’s most beautiful and famous singer/songwriter and comedian Anika Moa is set to join Mel Parsons and Julia Deans for a special show on October 31st at Mt Eden’s historical Crystal Palace Theatre.
Moa, who sang on Parsons’ last two albums, will be performing a short solo set on the night and says “Mel & Julia are two of my favourite humans, and I love Mel’s new album so I can’t wait to hear it live and be part of this very cool show”. Moa has just been nominated for Female Solo Artist of the Year at the NZ Music Awards for her new album Queen at the Table, and is currently working on a second baby album - Songs for Bubbas 2.
The Crystal Palace show is part of a five date theatre tour taking in some of NZ’s most beautiful and iconic venues, with Parsons accompanied by a full band performing songs and from her new and critically acclaimed third album Drylands.
Parsons was a finalist for the 2015 APRA Silver Scrolls for her song Get Out Alive on which Moa sang haunting backing vocals. Drylands has just won the VNZMA for Best Engineer (Lee Prebble & Oliver Harmer) and Parsons is also two-time NZ Music Award finalist for Folk Album of the Year.
