BFM is losing its popular breakfast host Mikey Havoc, who announced last week that he will leave at the end of March.
He says it is time to move and make way for some new blood. The blood, it seems, of Space host and long-time b DJ Hugh Sundae.
"I'm not quitting," says Havoc, "I'm bowing out."
"All things must pass. It's time to hand over the reins. I am planning a beauty next couple of weeks on Breakfast, because after almost six years doing the most thoroughly choice job in radio, it's vital I go out with the Mother of All Bahoogas." Havoc, who was named Most Promising New Broadcaster at the 1997 Radio Awards, says his time on air had seen 95bFM grow in influence: "It was originally considered fringe and alternative - now I think the rest of the radio industry looks to us for ideas."
bFM General Manager Aaron Carson says the station had known for some time that Havoc would leave.
