It always feels a bit naughty being out at a show on a weeknight, but that hasn’t stopped the crowd from filling up Valhalla to see Emma Kate, Danica Bryant, and Jeff and the Angry Stick. This is Emma Kate’s last show in Welly before she moves to Christchurch and the people have definitely shown up to make it a good one.

It’s not often you go to a rock show and most of the venue is made up of comfy eclectic couches, but the Paisley Stage is just that. Hoping to get people off the couches and warmed up for Curlys Jewels are Palmy band Bad Schematics and they have an extra long set prepared.

I walk into the Underworld Tavern and immediately see people with sugar skull makeup on and the stage set up with Day of the Dead decorations of skulls and flowers. Dia De Los Muertos is being celebrated tonight by Electric Tapestry, Ben McHardy (and band) and Voodoo Bloo.
