Nebula One - Nebula One Newsletter Interview

22 Jun 2005 // An interview by Shade
Which NZ artist/band do you think will be a huge international success one day?
Anyone who has the balls to do something of their own rather than copy US punkrock kids or Gangsta's has our vote.

Who would you most like to tour with?
New Zealand bands, probably Bailterspace or Straitjacket Fits.Out of any band in the known universe maybe Pink Floyd circa 1970 or The Cure.

What is your most embarrassing concert moment?
We haven't really had any! Most of our mistakes were made in our earlier bands. Sorry, boring answer.

What are you planning on doing during 2005?
We have had a couple of overseas leads which we will be chasing, Along with more giging & recording

How did you come up with the name Nebula One?
We're not too sure, it was something Richard came up with one day that he thought sounded cool, nothing deep and meaningful that we know of. We've since found out that there is a hip-hop artist called Nebula One (hence why we're nebulaone all lower case one word), there's a gaming website in the UK called Nebula One and apparently there was a gig a few years ago called Nebula One run by Club Bizarre.

What is in your CD collection at home?
Lots of different stuff! At one end of the spectrum there's a bit of old-time bluegrass music and at the other there's some pretty heavy bands. Somewhere in the middle we've all listened to the likes of Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple The Cure, Pumpkins and Sisters of Mercy also make an appearance.

What advice would you give other budding musicians/bands?
Put down your instruments and get a real job, we don't need the competition.

But if you're serious then our advice would be do what you want to, don't try to fit into someone else's image of what is popular at the moment.

About Nebula One

Although collectively diverse in influences, Nebula One's sound is a solid mix of alt goth rock industrial noise, backed up with solid musical composition.

Latest material released is testament to Nebula One's talent for creating eerie atmospheric soundscapes, that you can dance to.

Not confining themselves to the 3 minute pop wonder, Nebula One make the music they like, turning their back on the mainstream.
