Mozelee - Inertia Tour

03 Mar 2004 // An interview by moffat
muzic Who are you favourite musicians/bands that have an influence on your music?
Mozelee (very quickly) NICKELBACK, yeah definitely Nickelback. Any other good rock bands like Lifehouse, Counting Crows, Sevendust, Fuel, Creed etc.
muzic ... and what about New Zealand Bands?
Mozelee Bands like Eight, The Feelers, OpShop, and Pacifier.
muzic So out of these bands who would you most like to support live?
Mozelee (After much deliberation it was a split between Lifehouse and Nickelback.)
muzic If you had to put a label on your music, how would you describe it?
Mozelee Without a doubt Straight up rock.
muzic What has been the most memorable moment for you on this tour?
Mozelee The trip home from Hamilton was a laugh. It was a recipe for a good time, five or six cars full of guys quite tired after an awesome but draining gig, open roads. You can figure out the rest.
muzic ... so how long have you guys been on tour?
Mozelee It's only been in the weekends going for some long road trips. It's been fun though.
muzic If you had one minute left to live, what would you do.
Mozelee Dave: Spend it with my wife
Marc: Call my mum, and pray.
Brent: Try to find something to do in my last minute.
muzic What would be your best piece of advice to other up-and-coming bands?
Mozelee DON'T GIVE UP!!!
Try and gig as much as possible. You learn so much from playing live.

Mozelee are Toby[Guitar], Brent [Drums], Marc [vocals+guitar] and Dave [bass]. They are a rocking four piece who came second at last years Battle of the Bands.

Keep an ear out for Mozelee. Without a doubt they will a force to be reckoned with in the near future.

Mozelee would like to thank Dave Cross from Inertia Light and Sound and Andy Dixon the sound guy from the tour. Also all the people who came out and supported the tour.

About Mozelee

Following hard on the success of their last single and music video 'Breathe', Auckland rockers Mozelee have recently released their latest radio single 'What About You'. Claimed by many fans to be their best song yet 'What About You' is the fourth and final track to be sent to radio from Mozelee's debut EP. Lead singer Marc Hamilton unashamedly states that 'What About You' is "basically our big, girly, rock ballad. It's the song that everyone sings along to at our shows. It goes off live and we are confident it will do the same at radio."

Formed in 2002, Mozelee took their name from the street in Devonport where bass player Dave lived at the time. The band's big, straight-up rock sound has been compared to that of Nickelback, Dishwalla and Matchbox 20.

"All melodic, soul searching vocals and chunky sonic guitars a formula that works though, with catchy radio singles clean pop hooks - Mozelee know their market." -
