Streetwise Scarlet - Streetwise Scarlet Newsletter Interview

31 Aug 2008 // An interview by Shade
Thanks to Sam for answering the following questions:

What is the best gig/event you have ever performed at, and why?

Hmmmm, well, opening for My Chemical Romance at Vector was pretty amazing, just seeing that many faces staring at you is pretty crazy aye. I think this Friday at Kings Arms might just top if for enjoyment though, we're really looking forward to the sexy juicy milky oily shiny album release spectacular....

What is your favourite NZ venue?

For us its definately the Kings Arms, we have had so many fun shows there over the years. The price of beer keeps going up though which is a shame, but there is still jovial times to be had.

What can we expect to see from Streetwise Scarlet over the next year?

Perhaps a couple more singles, and a bunch more shows, and then work will commence on the next record. Then we might disapear overseas.
What other NZ musicians or bands would you like to see more of, and why?
Over the next little while I'd like to see Like You Crazy put some stuff out, also Alex The Kid from Wellington, it would be nice to see more of them in general...

If you could, what rumour would you start about Streetwise Scarlet?

There is enough already aye......maybe we'd spread gossip about not actually being from the future, then people might find it easier to connect with our music? I guess its tuff to relate to our band sometimes, us being from the future and all can be hard for some people, we've just seen so much of what is to come that maybe we ruin the surprise for everyone?

What advice would you like to give to other aspiring musicians?

Write the best song ever in the world, stick at it, and make sure you enjoy yourself at all times.
