Axesword - Axesword Newsletter Interview

21 Aug 2011 // An interview by Shade

What advice would you like to give to other aspiring musicians?

Work extremely hard to create your music. If you have to spend nights starving to create a masterpiece then it can all be worth it. Axesword didn't get anywhere by writing and recording songs in half an hour.

What will Axesword’s next release be?

Axesword have recently recorded their debut EP in a town filled with mythical beasts that have the head of a Horse and the body of a Horse. It was thus sent to Hell and returned with brutal mastery and the impending doom of its release date is nigh.

What can we expect to see from Axesword over the next year?

After the EP is released, providing there is no rapture... a live show like no other.

How do you come up with your lyrics?

Axesword's lyrics mainly come from life experiences.

Who would you most like to support live?

Annabel Fay.

How do you believe Axesword fits into the NZ music industry?

The longest recorded flight of a Chicken was 13 seconds.

How do you describe Axesword music?

Brutal. Now that's a word and words cannot describe it, but that's the closest... Except maybe Alan.

What is in your CD collection at home?

Just a 40 minute vinyl of the "Brown note".

How did you come up with the name Axesword?

More of a necessity than a thought. What weapon would you pick in a fight? An axe? Or a sword? Axesword picks an Axesword.

How do you keep in contact with your fans?

Facebook.

What rumour would you like to start about Axesword?

Behind the masks are Drew Neemia and Suzy Cato.

About Axesword

The lord of the underworld, Satan has sent his demons to the surface to bring the brutalizing tones of hell to the puny ears of humans.

Listening to these guys is like being in a steel tornado of brutality.

Axesword released their debut EP in 2012 and it will blow the ears off your head and replace them with metal ears because only people with metal ears can listen to this kind of metal because it's metal as!
