Thanks to Nick for answering these questions:
What is your favourite NZ venue?
So far our favourite's have been Saints and Sinners in Invercargill, Wunderbar in Christchurch and The Celtic Inn in Palmerston North.
How did you come up with the name Free Beer and Cash?
We were sitting around when the band was created and saw Johnny Cash poster and thought Cash would be a sweet name.
We also were drinking free beer. Put two and two together..
Who would you most like to support live?
The Thomas Oliver Band, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Muse, Dethklok and Miley Cyrus cause she's bangin'.
How would you describe Free Beer and Cash’s music?
It's rock with blues elements coming through. We have had comments like "Queens of The Stone Age with a chick vocalist".
There's also breakdowns for the metal heads.
What inspired you to start Free Beer and Cash?
Well we all lived together which made everything a lot easier and with Stu Laura and Nick moving to Wellington we started things off with a bang.
What is the best gig you have ever performed at, and why?
Liquid Bar Nelson has to be a major one for us. We had just come off a gig where we were not suited for the venue and basically had played to about 5 people the night before. Liquid had the best vibe of any bar I have ever played at myself.
It was packed,we played basically our whole set twice because of the encores, and we just had a great night. That's where we are playing for NYE this year.
What rumour would you like to start about Free Beer and Cash?
A certain Cannes Film Festival nominee is going to be directing our video for when we release our EP.
Since forming in May FB and C have been playing gigs all over the country.
Not only playing around the lower North Island they toured the South Island in September/October. With an EP being released soon and a nationwide tour coming up, you will be hearing a lot more from FB and C.
