Ammp - On the song Go from Garageband
16 Jan 2008 // A review by ammp
Super Duper
Nice job. Production is the best I've EVER heard on Garageband. Some $$$ went into this, no doubt. Reminds me of the Killers at the beginning and then there is a U2 feel to the chorus. And also when the singer pushes out meatier notes, he channels his inner Bono nicely.
Guitars are great throughout. Kind of a Johnny Marr feel to them.

Performance
Absolutely pro across the board. Super tight, great tones. Vocals are delivered with heart and emotion.
Song
The arrangement is perfect. The song breathes well and I really feel a lift for the choruses. Instrumentally, the parts are all extremely well written and fit together great. The intro guitar riff that appears throughout the song is very hooky. I love the vocal melody and the background vocals. Breakdown section is perfect. The only criticism is the first two lines of the song when you really need to grab a listeners attention are the weakest part of the song. "Don't say maybe, she drives me crazy." Very cliche and doesn't come close to matching the level of the rest of the lyrics. i.e. "I take a smoke, I move like a lover. Each moment I discover..." - THAT'S nice!!
Production
You're just fishing for compliments on this one...you already know it's effing great.
