There is a new bunch of outlaws in town and they call themselves The Twitch. The gang of three present their latest album Time For Change and they are here to cement their name in the music industry. A collection of punk-rock songs this album is fun and easy-going but more so just rock & roll as it should be.

The album opens with ‘Work 2’ which is effervescent and pure punk with Fleur taking lead vocals. It is apparent that The Twitch are riding through a dusty town where they are in charge. From the onset the band is in complete control over their lyrics and melodies and as an audience, you cannot help but succumb to their authority as artists. The title track ‘Time For Change’ encompasses this completely. The electricity of the guitar works effortlessly to propel this song to new limits. In ‘Standing on the Corner’ you can feel the fury and frustration of the band with the world not being able to keep up with their swagger and momentum.

‘Rock’n’Roll Mirror’ is simple self-confidence and confronting the illusions of fame. ‘Political Cereal’ turns it up a notch and provides the quintessential punk-rock song by pulling the finger at authority and the politics. A slower rhythm creates ‘Hawker’ and is an honest song about descending from the astronomical heights you can reach when you’re high. ‘Greenlight’ suddenly thrusts back into full gear once again with a track that is all brawn.

‘I Feel Alright’ exposes the softer side of the band, with a song about love and loss, but it does not last for long as ‘Get Me Out Of This Mess’ returns right back to the dynamism of this rocketing album. ‘Brain Shake’ begins with an eeriness that makes you feel uneasy. However before you know it the chorus throws you fast into a whirlpool of driving lyrics and electric guitars. Keep the album playing and the secret track ‘R’n’R Dad’ will appear which is something extra for those wanting just a little bit more.

According to this exuberant album, The Twitch have the strut which is so often lacking in today’s rock music. A great album which has vibrant songs, it is clear that this band will be most fantastic in live performance. What makes this band work so well is how throughout this album the members interchange over lead vocals. This is what keeps the album attention-grabbing and the male-female vocal harmonies make this album more powerful. These desperados know how to have a good time, and in Time For Change this trio comes out of the sound system to grab you along for the joyride.
