A beautiful arrangement featuring mandolins and violins makes The Johnny Possum band stand out in their eclectic mix genre of folk pop rock, with a lots of melody and feel good vibes.
Short Summer is the band’s fifth album to date, comprising of vocalist, Bryan Peters, Margaret Pickering, Sean Whitaker, Keith Taylor and Jonathan Rosanowski. A great talent of multi instrumentalists, they have some outstanding uplifting songs, and opening track ‘If you try’ is a great example of this, with Bryan Peters clear, strong vocals and mesmerising musicial arrangement with the mandolin.
Even if you’re not an avid folk pop fan, prepare to be converted once you listen to The Johnny Possum Band. A really interesting vibe to Short Summer, that is both deep and beautiful. Complete with lots of even harmonies that provide a solid grounding for the lead vocals, it’s hard not to get caught up in humming along enjoying their unique sound.
Since 2005, The Johnny Possum Band has been delivering their own brand of alt country/bluegrass/folk music featuring guitar, fiddle, mandolin, banjo and upright bass.
