Heavy riffs and screams come straight out to play from the very first song on Bloodspray for Politics debut EP Blood And Night, with wah heavy leads tearing through the first track Blood And Night. I had to assume that with the very first track having the same title as the EP that whatever I got in the first track would continue throughout, and I was right.
The band itself as far as song writing comes together quite well, with every layer adding their own integral parts that add to each songs arrangement and dynamics. Whether this comes about from the guitarists “signature licks” (that’s the riff that stands out in every song to make it catchy), or taking lead/ fattening up from the bass, the range of techniques used by the vocalist or the drums adjusting the beat to add dynamic influence… it’s all good.
My favourite track off the album would have to be track 2 Fall which continues the onslaught of heavy riffs, the varied vocal techniques (often at the same time), heavy bass tracks fuelling the fires and the drums synching with riffs to bring the whole thing up even further.
Bringing an original vocal style to the table in a world full of tech groove they’re bringing back thrash influenced “heavy metal” with a modern twist and it’s giving me bloodlust, I need more Bloodspray!
