Gritty, dark and raw best sums up Auckland quartet Parents. Ravaging your ears with full force noise obliteration with opening track Change, Parents are no strangers to a Black Flag/Burzum medley of assault. Hard core punk meets black metal.
Further down the tracks, Let Down is a really crunchy doom number, with plenty of dropped bass lines and bleakness, that actually makes me put it on repeat another three times. Vocalist, Simon, has a great gravel pitch to his screams, with a rounded mix of blast beats too, it makes for perfect circle mosh pit times for hearty Kiwi metallers and punks.
There is nothing shy about Parents, and for those who like their noise loud and aggressive, Low Life is the perfect eight song album for your ears.
