Curlys Jewels - Single Review: Bastard Fate

I must say it as absolutely fantastic to hear a fabulous female rock artist. There aren't enough talented rock ladies in my opinion.
Bastard Fate is a very commercial pop/rock single which (apart from the name) should be played on every music station in NZ. It is catchy and powerful and produced to the highest standard to capture the energy of the song.
The whole band sounds tight and polished. One slight criticism is that it sounds too good and maybe too polished. I am sure this would be an absolute winner when played live, and hopefully a little more raw!!
Janelle, Aaron, Corey and Andy are obviously all talented musicians and I'm looking forward to their album.

The band has released a number or records over the years enjoying success on the Official NZ Top 40 Charts. The past 3 Curlys Jewels singles were recorded at Roundhead Studios with the legendary producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers) and mixed by Clint Murphy (Devilskin).
Curlys Jewels have supported several heavy weight New Zealand bands such as Head Like a Hole, Devilskin, and toured with The Feelers. They also supported international rock stars Living Colour at their Wellington concert.

New Zealand’s very own Blink 182, Elemeno P, with support from Fruit Juice Parade and Valentina hit San Fran, on a fantastic warm Wellington evening. It was packed out; beers were flowing, and the sticky smell of the low-ceilinged venue was absolutely buzzing.
