Bloodshot - Album Review: Pull The Plug
15 May 2018 // A review by River Tucker
What is it about Wellington that produces such great metal bands?
Bloodshot is no exception to the rule and seems ready and rearing to go. Not strictly Metalcore, their debut album
Pull The Plug also throws in elements of Thrash and Melodic Hardcore for good measure.
Melodious sections often lend more weight to well-written and inspiring lyrics, which can seem a bit contradictory given the dark subject matter. The musically tried and true might get a bit blasé if Bloodshot didn’t consistently hit all the nails on the head in these first-rate compositions.
Pull The Plug is an excellent debut release full of angst and youthful exuberance. Most people will identify and be compelled by the generally tight performances and excellent riffing, which will keep any metal loving audience amped and keen for the mosh pit.
The last of the eleven tracks
Peripheral is easily the standout. This album seems to grow on you the more you listen. Check it out today.
