Ashy (Aswini Batchelor) is an exceptional song writer who is currently recording new material in Auckland. Her single Jersey was released at the start of June, and immediately gained traction on mainstream radio.
Elements of EDM, and pure synth pop, touches or RnB in the modern sense. This song has an excellent structure, familiar but different enough to be interesting. The song was written by Aswini when she was aged 18 in 2017 and recorded at Parachute Studios with producer Scott Seabright.
At 3.06 long, it is very commercial radio friendly, super catchy, and on fourth of fifth listen makes me want to play it again.
Jersey hit over 10,000 streams on Spotify within its
first week, which is clearly unsurprising. It is also listed on NZ’s Official Music Chart as one of NZ's Fastest Rising Singles. Apple Music also picked it up as a part of their Best
of the Week and The A-List for Pop playlists, which further proves its potential popularity.
Jersey is well composed pop music at its finest, and it has cemented Ashy's place within the pop music industry.
