Alae - Single Review: Help You Now
Alae have released their new single Help You Now. It’s the first track to be issued since the release of the Henry St album last year.
Alae are awash with pop sensibilities as their previous releases do attest, and Help You Now is very much in that same mould.
The song starts straight in; a snare hit, then chords and the opening line. The first verse begins the lyrical theme which centres around the singer asking how he can help someone when some situation has changed. “Why do you run away, every time you need to stay, and how can I help you, when every time I try you’re not there.”
The future of Alae is positively hi-viz, with the Auckland-based band set for stardom, especially if any of the early comments on the Soundcloud post of Help You Now are typical.
‘The Kiddo’ is the most verbose, writing; “Really smooth song, absolutely loved it. I'm so glad I got here. You're for sure gonna (sic) make it, keep it up!!”
For the true fans, the band is set to film parts of a video for this song in the coming days.
