Radio Coma - Single Review: Fight Night

Radio Coma are a syndicate of musicians, audio engineers, and producers with Ozan Turan at the core of it, along with drummer Aycan Firatli, And Johann De Guigne on bass duties.
Radio Coma are here to create a community around them of like-minded people. To self-produce and make music under the broad scope of rock 'n' roll. From pure rock 'n' roll, to psychedelic, and everything in between. Not content to keep the project inhouse, Radio Coma also invites outsiders to contribute with demos and ideas. All for the love of art and music, and everything which that entails.
Fight Night details a heady night of boozing and partying that is, in fact, based on a true story. One Friday night, the group was out on the town with friend Damon Kenzo visiting from abroad. After a ‘very rough night out’ the group got into the studio and got to work creating Fight Night. Some studio wizardry is afoot from the outset, with a low-fi intro that collapses in on itself before the band kicks in for real.
The listener is then greeted with warm, aggressive guitars, a dancy punk rock groove and some wacky vocal effects that certainly contribute to the narrative of a wild night out on the town. Singer Damon Kenzo’s gravelly vocals command the attention while the band charges forward. This song fits snugly into the punk rock genre, complete with wailing blues rock guitar solos and stabby guitar riffs. You can practically smell the beer in the carpet.
In the outro, we hear laughing and yarns in stereo sound, and you really get a sense of the friendship and comradery that Radio Coma is all about. Fight Night is for fans of bands such as the Distillers and The Rabble. It’s here for one reason, and that is to have a good time - don’t get in its way, or you might be in for trouble.
