Well, as bloody obvious things to write go, music is in the entertainment industry should be fun and entertaining.
With that premise in mind, Bingo Fighter go to the top of the class with their new single Kama Sutra.
The song is lyrically tongue-in-cheek, but I’m not sure whose cheek, gosh, even which cheek for that matter. Musically it’s a balls-out ripper of a song; fast, post rock punk leanings, with an intro verse, pre-chorus, chorus, etc structure.
Released with a fabulous lyric video this song is the first release from Bingo Fighter as a full band, ahead of their first album.
Like many great pop songs, the middle 8 on Kama Sutra is fantastic, and this part of the video may prove educational for some, offensive to others, and will either be blurred or banned. It visually shows images (in tasteful silhouette) relating to the song’s title.
After the middle 8, its coda till the abrupt ending which will catch radio DJs out for a while.
Damn good song, well written and recorded and a heck of a lot of fun. I guess these guys would be fabulous live.
Bingo Fighter is the stage name for Hayden Linney. Hayden was initially a drummer who picked up guitar a number of years ago, and began writing and performing his own material. Bingo Fighter gets it’s sound from a fresh approach with emphasis on harmonic interest and variation all with a strong rhythmic component, and has been influenced by everything, with the exception of anything lame.
