Auckland based, energetic three piece punk outfit JANG have just released their debut EP COPS. The band’s sound described as "Surf Punk Slam" is summed up in this catchy tumultuous wave of five tracks, which took almost two years to complete.
Auckland based, energetic three piece punk outfit JANG have just released their debut EP COPS. The band’s sound described as "Surf Punk Slam" is summed up in this catchy tumultuous wave of five tracks, which took almost two years to complete.
This EP has been released, rounding off the series of singles previously released, and it best encapsulates
the band's sound.
Ripping straight into it with Dead Weight, the fast surf punk sound is an energetic burst of guitar and drums with a good hit of bass complementing the resounding vocals.
Exuberant melodic sound continues with White Hell, with the snappy intro bringing to mind an enthusiastic version of The Shadows.
COPS delivers that reverb heavy sound heavy sound associated with surf rock, transporting you back in time to an era where surf/skate punk was circulating the airwaves. This EP is rich with a nostalgic sound, yet delivered in a swift lively manner.
