East York are back with their third single, Damned Anthem.
With two singles firmly under belt, East York continue to go from strength to strength with their creativity and musicality. Damned Anthem is a strong tune that has some solid crunchy riffs and great energy just like their first single, Outsiders.
In a recent interview with guitarist, Daz Coppins, it was stated that East York’s intention with their music is to offer an escape, and they done that with what they have released thus far. Lyrically, I interpret Damned Anthem as another chance of reflection in this world, especially our new normal amid COVID and all its uncertainty.
It offers hope although with some reservation but above all, is also a damn solid tune that will liven your spirit and get your heart rate pumping in that mosh pit.
Well done.
For a band who launched during a global pandemic, East York are generating a unique buzz worldwide which only comes along occasionally.
Their debut EP Origins is masterfully melded into an exciting, fresh and face melting fusion. Balancing the excitement and unpredictability of Refused, rounded out with the epicness of Alice In Chains and Faith No More. Their debut offering will have you yearning for more … and yes, there is more to come.
East York have secured an impressive selection of rotation and regular radio airplay on national, indie and student radio stations all over New Zealand and Australia. Including Radio Hauraki, BayRock FM, Kaos FM, The Generator, Radio One, The Faction.
