Cking is the Brisbane-based, New Zealand-bred rapper who’s eclectic catalogue of hits has seen him share the stage with everyone from T-Pain to Kerser, and now, he’s linked up with fellow NZ emcee Dilz for a hard-hitting banger, No Snakes. Cking and Dilz each come lyrically strapped with passionate and emotive verses, matching the energy of the rapid-fire, earth-rattling production alongside them.
With the drill style beats that takes pages from trap at times, and even some distorted guitars laying back in the mix, the beat really rocks hard. The grittiness of the vocal which seems distorted for artistic effect works really well here. Both Cking and Dilz showcase their delivery here with a sense of confidence in their flow. The chorus has a catchy almost Drake inspired vibe to it which increases the appeal.
And the video takes the ideas of the lyrics and puts into moving images. Although, the end seemed a bit odd and was left open. Maybe there is more to it here.
Overall, a great production, a solid track and a well put together track that does well for all involved here.
