Khailana - Single Review: Like A Demon

10 Nov 2022 // A review by Corinne Rutherford
Otaki based independent ethereal pop artist Khailana, has just released her third single Like A Demon. Four years in the making the track is a mystical and captivating song, a moody tale ultimately about “how people can construct an entire version of you based off of one little thing that you’ve said or done”.

Like A Demon
is bewitching and broody, veiled in an air of mystique. Khailana expertly isolates her vocals, creating layers of depth and silky harmony.

This track steers away from her usual celestial sound, instead bringing a darker more intimate feeling. Gently flowing and hauntingly beautiful, Khailana lays herself bare.

At just 23, this genre bending ethereal pop fairy from a distant realm, offers a mythical haunting song which is tender and enchanting. Like A Demon will have you totally bewitched. It gave me goosebumps listening to her sing.

Khailana is an otherworldly musical artist making her mark on planet Earth.

Rating: ( 5 / 5 )

About Khailana

Khailana is a 23-year-old genre bending, ethereal pop fairy from a distant realm who takes musical inspiration from nature and fantasy. She turns her personal experiences into dark, magical, yet emotional songs with many layers and mirrors of meaning.
After gaining confidence from her first self produced single Our Monster, Khailana is now set to release her second song this spring

Raised by a very creative family on her home planet, Khailana's passion for music grew from an early age. She started uploading covers to the cosmic web at the age of 12, and writing her own songs with the dream of one day becoming an artist. As a quiet daydreamer who often kept to herself, she found comfort and the ability to open up through acting, dance and most of all, music.
