This latest EP release, Metahuman, immerses listeners in a captivating cinematic journey from its very first note. With an infusion of sounds and concepts reminiscent of high-budget modern action films, the EP exudes an undeniable sense of intensity and potency that is instantly evident on the opening track, BBDO.
The production prowess behind this EP is a collaborative effort between xJ-Will and Mazbou Q, collectively known as SURVIVR6. Together, they elevate the remix of the already popular track, Beat Up, Bullied and Dunked On, to unprecedented heights. The vocals exude a raw and focused quality, while the instrumentation creates a spacious and commanding sonic landscape.
This feeling persists throughout the EP's five tracks, which seamlessly intertwine to create a cohesive and expertly packaged musical experience. Lucky All Day starts with the atmospheric sounds reminiscent of a Christopher Nolan film, before unleashing a pulsating beat that demands your attention, leading up to a chorus that hits with the force of a blow from Creed III.
Each track works with the others, fitting snugly into a larger, meticulously crafted picture that reflects the visionary ambitions of SURVIVR6. The performances exhibited on every track are real, raw and powerful, offering listeners a world-class experience, whether enjoyed through headphones or a quality speaker setup. It is evident that both artists involved poured their heart and soul into this EP.
For enthusiasts of both hip-hop and electronic music, particularly those who appreciate the likes of Noisia, this release is a resounding triumph. Metahuman is a fantastic achievement that demands your attention. Prepare to be taken away by its intricate sonic soundscape and allow yourself to be swept away on an unforgettable cinematic, yet musical, journey.
