Residue rose from the ashes of seminal Wellington hip-hop/metal band Police Lucipher in 2000 and also features members from Product, Seven, Optimus Prime, Digitaalis, The Hairy Lollies and Toru.
Residue has since built a reputation for delivering aggressive hi-energy performances as well as capturing the audiences attention with moody emotional intensity. Residue's music caresses the soul while simultaneously kicking you where it hurts.
With two independently released singles making 'A' rotate on the Bnet this year, and a self funded video achieving airtime on M2 (shortly before its demise) and Juice TV, the band are currently honing their skills in the studio, demoing new material with Mike Gibson (Inca Studios) for a summer EP release and supporting national tour.
Although Residue is primarily a guitar band their diverse sound and explosive live energy has brought their signature brand of soulful rock to the Aotearoa stage alongside a wide range of NZ name acts such as Katchafire, HDU, Rhombus, Native Sons and Che Fu and the Krates.
Notable gigs under their belts include Vodafone Planet X Games, Culture Jams (WCC Event), Cuba Street Carnival and Pao Pao Pao Festival (a Tongan Maori Pacific music event) as well as many independent shows on hometown soil and across Aotearoa.
Residue were finalists in the 2003 Handle The Jandal competition for their video 'The Construct'
