Live electro pop superheroes The Greenmatics stumbled across each other in Melbourne, Australia in 2006 and the trio has been rocking venues across Australia and New Zealand since.
In New Zealand The Greenmatics had four singles reach number 1 in various Top 10 Radio countdowns. They received a nomination for ‘Most Promising New Act’ in the 2005 bNet Music Awards and had their number 1 hit Wait No More remixed by Ryan Beehre (Minuit, Funk n Slo cuts) and a tour of New Zealand led to nationwide television coverage.
With this success still fuelling her, Green (Mel Smith) needed to get out of her Christchurch bedroom and into the big bad world. She headed for Australia with a synth under her arm and a love for her music driving her to break the Australian market.
In Melbourne, she found 2 musical soul mates and formed an electro band with the personality, beats and knowledge to break the big city. They made an appearance on Circuit Breakers Vol.1 put out by NSW based Light Sounds and released their Out of Limbo EP. Onstage, they acquired plenty of retro electro gear, and have been cutting some seriously groundbreaking live shows.
Now back from their East Coast Tour of Australia, The Greenmatics are currently working on their debut album with Brian Canham (Pseudo Echo frontman), due for release sometime this century.
Are you excited? They are.

RE: radio Posted: Mon Mar 14, 2005 5:42 pm Yeah, I forgot about that one.... My bios are always neatly photocopied and are regularly updated. Sometimes I make up a cdr sticker for a new single to make it look more presentable, but that be kind of expensive, so you could always buy the cdrs which have a plain white top and neatly write on them... at least then there's no cdr brand names all over the cdr. Be prepared to give away ALOT of cds. If the people you give them to like it, then they'll tell their friends etc etc.... And I guess you also have to have a good quality recording of your songs, otherwise it'd be alot harder to get them played on the radio. |

RE: radio Posted: Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:58 pm Also, take pride in the way you present yourself and your demo. A scribbled note, poorly photo-copied bio and a vivid-marker pen label on your CD will probably just land you straight in the rubbish bin. |

RE: radio Posted: Mon Mar 14, 2005 4:38 pm Hi Neckbolts, Don't know how much help I can be.... all I did was write songs, burn them to cdr and then mail them to all the bNets. I guess it helps to do some networking... give them an email and let them know you've sent them a cd perhaps. Feel free to give me an email if you want - emeraldgreenmusic(at(hotmail.com |

RE: Gear Posted: Sat Feb 12, 2005 11:39 pm Hi Neckbolts, I make the music in Fruity Loops and record the vocals with Cool Edit. For gigs there's a real live bassist and guitarist, I do vocals and play a casiotone MT-70 and there's a backing track with drums and a few other bits and pieces on it. Hope that answers your question. |

RE: Emerald Green Posted: Mon Sep 27, 2004 11:07 pm Hi Mel, I will try and get it. The problem with this forum there is no option for Australia so it defaulted to Auckland. Can I get your music imported into Australia? Or can I e-mail you and get your music via you? Thanks pipera |
