Amiria Grenell (Mea) and Jessie Moss Posted: Sat Jun 19, 2004 5:50 pm An inspiring and energised folk duo, Jessie Moss and Mea will be playing an innovative mix of folk, blues, Irish and reggae music on their tour of Christchurch and Dunedin, starting on the 1st of July. These up and coming young women will soon be recognised in the New Zealand music scene. Several guests including Amy Grace, Tim Moore and Clare McLennan-Kissel will join them along the way. You can catch them in Christchurch at Mainstreet Café and Bar on Thursday the 1st July at 9pm and at the Harbourlight on Tuesday the 6th of July for $5, doors open at 7:30pm, 8pm start. At the Dunedin Art gallery Saturday the 3rd, NEFC at "Tull cafe" Sunday 4th at 7:30pm and Arc Cafe Monday the 5th at 9pm. Jessie Moss has been studying in Wellington for the past year and has been steadily making a name for herself in the Wellington music scene. Prior to living in Wellington she was studying at the Christchurch Jazz School and playing gigs with around town with Mea. Highlights for Jessie have been playing at music festivals such as The Gathering, Destination and Visionz. Mea (Amiria Grenell) is in her final year of NASDA (National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts) and will be joining Jessie in Wellington next year to begin focusing on her Wellington music and theatre career. Highlights for Amiria have been playing at The Gathering, Visionz, Destination, Kaikoura Roots Festival and more recently appearing on the TV2 National anthem. Amiria hails from the famous Grenell family, getting a head start in music with the help of her Father John Grenell and her brothers Oakley and Redford. |
