Cathedra

Bio

Forming in 2002, Palmerston North based Cathedra were a young band from Feilding High School, St Peters College and Awatapu College.

Inspired by the likes of Poison The Well, AFI, Cradle of Filth and Norma Jean, they described themselves as dark melodic metalcore in sound.

Renown for their live stage presence, the band played numerous shows in many different venues with bands such as Marystaple, Die! Die! Die!, The Nana Squad, Ritalin and Australia's Stronger Than Hate.

On the recording front, the band have laid down a two-song demo CD at famed Palmerston North venue/studio The Stomach as well as recorded a live-to-air set for Radio Control during 2004's NZ Music Month. Their debut release The Fall from Autumn EP sold out within a few days of release after a blistering live performance in store at Palmerston North's Mango Music.

Cathedra has now disbanded.

Ted Moriarty (vocals, guitar)
