Alex Smart has an appealing and remarkable personal voice and writes rock/pop songs that reflect much of what goes on in life.

Gaining NZ on Air funding for her first single, Real, from the album This is Me, she had the opportunity to record the track with top UK producer Greg Havers of Manic Street Preachers, Catatonia and Super Furry Animals fame.

Her second single Talk was chosen out of 3500 songs as runner-up in the internationally acclaimed UK song writers competition. She was the first New Zealand artist to achieve this.

Her album This Is Me was re-released in 2005, remixed and with an enhanced CD featuring the music video ‘real’ which has had play on TV2 Coke in the Fridge and C4.
