Aaron Nevezie, a guitarist, bassist, producer, and engineer with a taste for innovative sounds and creative fusions, has been a constant collaborator in the New York City jazz and rock community for more than 10 years. Raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Aaron began his professional career with the “Best Jazz Album” at the 1999 New Zealand Music Awards for the Chris White and Aaron Nevezie Quartet. Since that time, he has toured throughout the USA and Europe playing guitar and bass with such diverse artists as Nicole Atkins (Columbia), JDT (Rope-a-Dope), Ambulance Ltd (TVT), Natalie Walker (Dorado), Wakey!Wakey! (Family Records). He has performed at landmark venues including The Blue Note, Jazz Standard, Joe's Pub, the National Arts Club, Nublu.
In 2006, Aaron and partner John Davis opened the Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, New York. As an engineer and producer, Aaron has worked with Danger Mouse, Black Thought (The Roots), The Black Keys, Dub Trio, The Black Keys, Matisyahu, Ambulance Ltd, Charlie Hunter, Dave Eggar, Jojo Mayer & Nerve, and many more. He has run live sound for a who's who of international jazz including Brad Meldhau, Brian Blade, Bill Frisell, Chris Potter, Steve Wilson, Larry Goldings, Dr Lonnie Smith, Bill Stewart, Jazz Composers Collective.
