Formed in 2003, Cop Car are a Wellington punk group with attitude. Not content to follow the well-travelled paths of meaningless lyrics and fall-asleep music, the band is dedicated to creating intelligent and entertaining music, and unforgettable shows.
The start of 2005 has seen UK import Jim Thompson (ex-drummer of London punk band Salvo) take a place behind the drum kit.
Cop Car draw from such influences as The Offspring, Pennywise, and Goldfinger; plus kiwi bands like Kitsch, Sommerset, and the now disbanded Brubeck.
Band Members:
Simon Allison (guitar, vocals)
Ben England (bass, vocals)
Hamish Walker (drums)

Cop Car need a drummer Posted: Thu Feb 3, 2005 3:00 pm Wellington punk band Cop Car are looking for a new drummer. As the band themselves put it: "Our old drummer, Raff, and the band have parted ways, and we're looking for a new drummer to complete the lineup. With our first North Island tour under our belt, a number of shows around a variety of Wellington venues in the past year, and plans to record this year, Cop Car is looking to have a big year. We play "punk to change the world with" - meaningful lyrics with energetic music - and we need a drummer who will be able to handle fast-paced punk beats. If this sounds like you, or someone you know, contact Simon on 027 486 6707." |
