Katy Soljak

Bio

Katy Soljak plays a range of styles from reggae to rock and releasaed an album in September 2004 with 14 original songs.

NZ born Soljak played in Los Angeles for some years and developed a songwriting style which she now performs with her Waiheke Island based 7 piece band, the Katy Soljak Band.

The album features songs recorded in LA and in Kingsland with Stuart Pearce and a multitude of Auckland musicians like Joel Haines, Shane Wills and dave Alley on guitar. Kantuta feature on some tracks. The drummer from the original Spinal Tap plays on one of the LA tracks and Miles Gillett from San Diego band Fluf plays on track 4, 'Someone I can call my baby' currently being shot as a video.

Gala Records is proud to announce the release of Katy Soljak's latest all
blues CD; 'Morning Rain Blues'.

Recorded on Waiheke Island by Mano Pratt and Nick Stevens (Cornerstone
Roots)this collection of blues stories is being distributed by Global
Routes. Katy and band kick off their NZ Tour @ the Paihia Jazz Blues
Festival August 10th.
