Wellington death rock band originally formed in 1997, Azure started thier humble beginnings as a metal covers 3-piece founded by cuzzies Aaron & Jared.

The lineups changed every other day before thier first live performance as a full band at the James Cabaret in 1999 with bassist Adam and vocalist Dan. Eli joined on vocals soon after and they spent the next 3 years meandering in and out of activity til being summoned from the dead in 2002 to play with Epidemic and Amarna at a packed Valve to 350 drunken fans.

The experience had given the band new found power until Adam sliced his hand open with a skillsaw. They played just two more gigs before fading uncerimoniously off into the sunset...

After a ron de vou down south Aaron came back to Wellington and annoyed Jared enough to start this whole absurd shit again! Now a solid 3 piece with guitarist Dave, their musical style is probably best described as heavy, funky, rocky metal. Come listen and find out for yourself.
