Smith the Alien is simply a solo recording project of Cam Walker's that's been ongoing since about '97.

Three albums of material have been loosely put together and some songs have been performed with the Throb in '02.

The addition of Dan (drums) and Jonny (bass/vocals) turned Smith the Alien into a fully functioning band, recorded an EP in October '06 and has new material being recorded (Oct '08) for a release, including a video clip of the new track, Asphalt Princess.

As a band, Smith the Alien are playing around Christchurch and New Zealand joining with as many varying contemporaries as possible.

Cam is also a member of Christchurch band the Dialtones.
