Augustino came to being in February 1999 after Sean and Joel had met at a local gig and yarned over a few drinks.
For the next month, they got together on a daily basis, conglomerating on basic song ideas and direction for a band. Then came the search for the various required members.
Wade, a friend of Joel's, became the drummer. Wade and Joel had been jamming together prior to Augustino.
Again at a local gig, they stumbled upon a lad named Gareth, who stressed a desire to play bass. From the first rehearsal, it became plainly obvious that Gareth was much better suited to guitar than bass. So he joined as another guitarist, and the search continued for the right bass-man.
This person was to be Marcus Joyce, an old friend and previous band-mate of Sean's.
Rehearsing continued, and arrangements of subtly orchestrated songs were developed.
Unfortunately, the band suffered a set back with the loss of Marcus in September 1999, due to "directional diversities". He did however contribute the bass tracks on the band's first recording venture - 'The Morningside Demos' - prior to his departure.
Marcus's place was taken by Nick Buckton.
Band Members:
Sean Clarke (vocals, guitar)
Joel Halstead (guitar, keyboard, vocals)
Wade Shotter (drums)
Gareth Price (guitar, keyboard, vocals)
Nick Buckton (bass)
