Adi Dick is a singer and producer who began his career as front-man for Roots/rock trio Stylus77 in the early 2000's. Active for over 6 years, they had a minor hit with their first single Goodbye which was later released on their self-titled EP for Wellington label Capital Recordings in 2003.
In 2005 he appeared in Barnaby Weir's (The Black Seeds) Return of Fly My Pretties, where his song Get Out was a crowd favourite.
That same year he attended the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle, where he spent two weeks studying, recording and jamming with some of the industry's finest singers, songwriters, DJ's and producers.
2007 saw the release of Adi's debut solo album Our Place (Loop Recordings), debuting at number 37 on the NZ top 40 chart.
In mid-2007 he moved to London, touring with Fat Freddy's Drop as a backing singer on their European tour. Not long after that he was chosen by RBMA to partake in another project, this time in Cologne, Germany. He joined Grammy Award winner Om'mas Keith (Producer on Frank Ocean's Channel Orange album), Grammy Nominees The Mizell Brothers and others in the studio for two weeks of writing and recording. From there he headed back to London, where he settled for two and a half years. During that time he travelled Europe performing solo, playing guitar for Andreya Triana (Whom he met in Cologne), DJing and recording new material.
In late 2009 Adi Dick made his return to NZ, jumping straight into a sold-out Fly My Pretties theatre tour. Since then he's been performing live and DJing on a regular basis. His main focus though has been honing his production skills. He released his instrumental beat focused Spacedust EP in 2012 as well as a suite of remixes from his archives. He's also featured on releases by Theo Parrish, DJ Adlib, Ishfaq and Benny Tones over the last few years with more collaborations and releases lined up for the near future.
