We formed after a drunken holiday to Melbourne. We decided to start a band after a couple of days of heavy drinking together. We gelled pretty much the first time we played together and our sound was cemented on that fateful day. I'm not sure what you would describe our music as. Maybe some sort of psychedelic drone thing? We tend to sit on one riff for 5 minutes or so exploring different rythms and speeds. The idea is to keep it simple just drums and guitars. No singing, no bass. The gigs we have played so far have usually ended in the destuction of everything we can get our hands on, one night at Schooner Tavern being the worst where drumkits went in all different directions, bottles were thrown around and a chilli bin full of ice somehow managed to make its way all over the floor I don't know if we'll be allowed back there (This has been surpassed recently when I completly destroyed my drumkit in a drunken rampage). Sean is in constant trouble of having things thrown at him so far he has been hit with drumsticks, snare drum, beer and a margarita(still in the glass) Both of us ended up in our boxer shorts at a party we were playing at and we've made cupcakes to take to a gig. If it can happen it will probably happen at one of our gigs. Usually heavy drinking is involved..........

Last nights gig(s) Posted: Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:17 pm I feel ill. i've not had more than 6 hours sleep a night for the last two weeks. I've had alot to do and heaps of coffee as well. They both lead to each other. Last night I played two shows with two different bands on different sides of the city. I'm completely f**ked right now. I played drums for my friend Elliot as the Stomps at a fashion label launch. With no practice a rudimentry knowledge of the songs I managed to pull of a passable set worth of drumming. its a shame the audience didn't give a shit. at least I had fun. There was lots of pretty girls to look at so it wasn't all bad. Cut to four hours later another couple of beers and heaps more caffenated liquid and its time for my Satan's Little Sister set. It was planned to have our light show with us but due to a lack of important cable it did not occur. We started off with an intro cd of the drumbeat to our new song Penelope. It didn't work too well as I made it too long and we couldn't keep in time with it after the first minute or so. The set was pretty rugged both of us were exhausted it was after midnight and there wasn't enough liquor in our bellys. I think it may have been one of our more aggresive sets. We were giving it our sweat dripping all. Since my drumkit hasn't really recovered from the last show we did it spent most of the set moving around or slipping on the floor (my drumming carpet was also left at home). Subseqently I spent alot of time stopping midway through things to make my kit playable. I had fun though. Cassandra got up to speeds faster than it had been before and Sean brought out a new song that I wrote on new years day when I was still drunk from the night before. For some reason I ended up taking my trousers off during the set? Its a given that I need little or no encouragement to do stupid shit. I think I got to sleep sometime round 3am. the gravity at work was stronger than usual today. I love my band. You should to. |
