Familton, McDonald and Miller had all been original members of Thorazine Shuffle and after that band splintered they went on to keep writing and performing as Fontanelle from 1996-98. Havoc was invited along to complete the quartet with his distinctive scream and melodic voice. Gigs at bFM's Summer Series, Squid and The Big Day Out proved them as a ferocious live act with a sound that stood out on the Auckland scene of the mid 90s. Their influences ranged wildly and collided in a sound that could be described as 'beautiful aggressive'.
Familton, McDonald and Miller reconvened briefly as Hot Tub in Sydney, Australia in the new millenium before again succumbing to relocation.
Familton now records solo under the name Doubtful Sounds, with Brett Jones (ex Nocturnal Projections) as The Finalists and is exploring drone and static sounds as Kompost.
In 2009 McDonald and Familton are again working on new material...
