Merchants of Flow are a young reggae band from Christchurch who are leaving a huge impression on the crowds that hear their original music and experience their live shows. They have been on the scene for the last three years and their loyal fan base continues to grow daily. The band has been playing their unique blend of New Zealand roots reggae and Soul-RnB melodies to packed out audiences around Christchurch off the back of their recent debut EP release. The self-titled EP continues to gain recognition and respect from their fans, venue managers and other musicians. After being runners-up in UC’s Battle of the Bands they have supported huge New Zealand acts such as Salmonella Dub and Soljah, Midnight Youth taking opportunities to play at University events around the country and even featured on an episode of The Erin Simpson Show, Merchants of Flow are definitely proving their worth as one of reggae’s respected up-and-comers. The band’s supporters - or Fans of Flow - really showed their love and support by voting them to be the support act for Raggamuffin Road Trip 2012. They will have the honor of playing alongside their heroes and heavy weights of the reggae scene and are humbled to be amongst the massive line up.
The Merchants are in high demand with regular gigs in Christchurch at bars, clubs and festivals. They hope that their EP will make their music accessible to their fans all across Aotearoa.
