Audioslut

Bio

Audioslut is the latest in a long line of musical projects by SP Collins (a.k.a Tays), who began making electronic music seriously in 1990 whilst a fleeting member of Tinnitus and in 1991 emerged as Affliction Addiction at the first of the now legendary multi-media shows 'Rotate yr State'.

Affliction Addiction released a 7" single & cassingle and appeared on the Tinnitus CD 'Futures Past'. He then joined forces with fellow solo act & Tinnitus refugee 'New Flesh' using the name 'Afflicted Flesh'.

Afflicted Flesh's final performances being on tour with Pacifier, HLAH & The Nixons (Eye TV) in Dec 1991. Affliction Addiction's final performance came a year later in Wellington while supporting SPUD.

After a self imposed hiatus lasting 2 years the lack of decent local music got too much to bear so he got back into it. As well as remixing other artists including Alistair Riddell, K~Not and Don't, he has supplied the soundtracks for '23 Short Films' by Brent Hayward and a stint in the producers chair for Alistair Riddell for TV2's belated show 'Get Your Act Together'.

The Audioslut's music can be described as industrial Drum 'n bass although he has been known to vary musical styles without warning prefering not to be stuck 'in one groove'.
