Goon is a three piece group from Auckland with big ambitions and a small but committed following. The influences span throughout the decades and touch on almost anything that tickles the fancy. Guitars, melody's that take you somewhere, atmosphere, and mood is what this bands all about. Sitting in the same place is not the way to move anywhere. Love it or leave it. Goon

Goon began a few years ago officially in London when Christian was on his OE. This was obviously a one piece and he started recorded some songs. these were sent off to record companies and radio station. the response was not to bad but then his girlfriends visas ran out and he had to return to New Zealand. Since returning he realised the importance of playing live and invested in a really talented drummer called Gary who had originally come from a death metal background. Somehow the two mixed beautifully and were able to sculpture the songs with a much fuller sound.

The two piece worked well and the live performances were well received but the bottom end was always lacking. Now they are a three piece with Rochelle on bass.

Goon won the 2003 York Street Studios Acid Test.

Recently the band also had two bFM Number 1's with their singles Manama Nuts and Perfect Thing. They also one an award at the 2005 Handle The Jandle awards.

The band is currently in the process of recording their debut album, with their new drummer, Andrew.
