Jacquie Walters and James Wilkinson have shared bills in various band iterations over the past 26 years and have been collaborating and performing together since 2017.
Following the successful release of Jacquie’s album Light For A Broken World featuring James in 2018, the duo have recently returned to Bob Bickerton’s Nelson studio to record new material set for release as an EP later in 2019. The first single from that EP will be released in concert in April 2019.
Jacquie is known for her stunning vocals and moving, topical song writing. James is one of New Zealand’s best guitarists and a mesmerising bass player and will be adding his unique playing style and vocals in support of Jacquie’s original material.
“Jacquie and James are each exceptional musicians. Jacquie has always been an excellent singer, songwriter and is a very accomplished guitarist. James has an array of amazing skills with guitar and bass that really lift song arrangements to a whole new place too. It is an entertainment of itself to watch him play, particularly because his passion for the music is written all over him as he loses himself in each song. James is an extraordinarily inventive and truly individual musician. Jacquie and James have developed a great stage rapport and a humour between them that is fun and relaxed.”
