T-Bone

Bio

T-Bone is a Wellington based acoustic music group comprising Cameron Dusty Barnell, Gerry Paul, Aaron Stewart, Michael Muggeridge and Richard Klein. They play an eclectic mixture of styles and instruments within the Americana genre, drawing on their backgrounds in Old Timey, Bluegrass, Country, Cajun, Zydeco and Blues.

Cameron Dusty Burnell is multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. His playing is steeped in traditional American Roots music. He has toured New Zealand extensively over the last 2 years as a member of The Frank Burkitt Band, The Federal String Band, The Hardcore Troubadours and as one half of the duo Kim and Dusty.

Gerry Paul is an award winning songwriter, musician and producer. An in demand session musician, Gerry has performed and recorded with some of the world’s best known folk musicians including Grammy Award Winning Bluegrass Icon Tim O’Brien, Irish Platinum selling Accordion maestro Sharon Shannon, Indian Bansoori player Ravi Kumur (long-time member of Ravi Shankar's band) as well as his own band of ten years Gráda.

Richard Klein is a singing fiddler, best known in Antipodean folk circles for his collaboration with the Le Blanc Brothers Cajun Band (Melbourne). Since meeting in 2005, they have performed at numerous Folk Festivals in Australia and New Zealand. In August 2015 they were the only Australian/New Zealand band featured at the Rainforest World Music Festival in Sarawak, Borneo.

Aaron Stewart is a man with many strings to his bow, and many shows in the bag. As an in demand session bass player, Aaron is a member of Fly My Pretties, a juggernaut festival act, and The Fades, Wellington's premier vintage soul band, and works alongside artists including Tui Award winner Mel Parsons, and new-pop sensation Jed Parsons. He's toured with the likes of ALDOC and Darren Watson, and is a solid low end player, bringing his warm tone to T-Bone.

Michael Muggeridge hails from Taranaki with strong family ties to New Zealand folk music. Growing up being a part of the sounds of his family Michael leant a thing or two about guitar and mandolin, now residing in Newtown Wellington he is a vibrant contribution to T-bone and is always ready with a dirty lick!

T-Bone present a soulful blend of high-energy Americana music played on guitars, mandolin, banjo and fiddles with close vocal harmonies and fiery instrumentals.
